While these ICE folks are justified to take such action at the border or at sea (Coast Guard) but in the US only if they are certain the person is illegal and/or with contraband or is enabling such. Otherwise ICE is committing a crime. Soon they will be sued for damages and the ICE who do this arrested and if convicted jailed for felony just as cops are now.
The statute of limitations for this if criminal is 1 year to 6 years. For civil is usually 90 days.
These ICE agents are nuts to do this. They are also subject to Congressional action which do not have statute of limitations.
Have these ICE already retained legal? Do they have a union that is already working on this exposure?
Trump has a very shifty record of protecting those who illegally follow his direction. These ICE have no JAG like folks ready to help out.
Forget right or wrong, MAGA or not, they are risking destroying their families, being jailed, losing their benefits - calamity. There must be a small army of wolfish lawyers following this closely.
