Bringing OKX to France: A New Chapter in Our European Journey

I'm excited to share another major milestone in our European journey at OKX: we've officially launched our fully regulated centralized crypto exchange in France, made possible through MiCA passporting from our European HQ in Malta. This isn't just another market entry, it’s another strategic step forward in our mission to build a compliant, transparent, and user-focused platform across Europe.
France is one of the most important crypto markets in the European Economic Area. It has a strong community with a growing appetite for digital assets. That’s why bringing our platform here, fully localized and MiCA-compliant, has been a top priority.
With this launch, French users now have access to the same world-class experience we’ve delivered globally, with some meaningful enhancements tailored for the local market. That includes spot trading with deep liquidity, staking, automated trading bots, and over 270 cryptocurrencies. We’re also offering 60+ crypto-Euro pairs to make onboarding and daily trading frictionless.
One of the most important aspects of this launch is our commitment to compliance and user protection. The MiCA framework brings clarity to the European crypto landscape, and we’re proud to be among the first global exchanges to meet its standards. We’ve already started passporting our license from Malta, and France is just the beginning.
To mark the occasion, we hosted an exclusive red carpet event in Cannes, where we screened our short film, Mild Mild West. The film challenges the old narrative of crypto as the "wild west", a term that no longer reflects where the industry is headed. Regulation, transparency, and trust are not only possible, they're essential to the next phase of crypto adoption, and we’re proud to be helping lead that charge.
This launch builds on a year of strong momentum for OKX globally. We’ve seen a double-digit increase in active users, growth in assets under management, and a more than 30% expansion of our workforce across the EEA. In recent weeks, we’ve celebrated localized launches in Germany, Poland, and Spain, and we continue to invest heavily in our European footprint.
